Passenger terminal of Ponikve airport

We created the complete project documentation – from the initial idea and conceptual design, through the development of the construction permit, to the detailed execution project – for the passenger terminal building at Ponikve Airport.
This significant project emerged from the extension and renovation of the shelter, a former aircraft hangar, which was severely damaged during the 1999 bombing. An air bomb penetrated the shelter’s roof and detonated in the floor of the building, rendering it unusable for more than 17 years.
Instead of demolishing the building, we approached it with careful planning and revitalization, transforming the shelter into a modern airport building that now meets the highest standards of functionality and design. With this approach, we succeeded in combining the legacy of the past with the needs of the future, creating a space that symbolizes the renewal and development of the region.
The building was designed and constructed in just two months, with the construction work completed in 46 days! The construction was very dynamic. Be sure to read the full story about the design and construction process, as well as additional photos documenting this achievement, on our blog dedicated to Ponikve Airport.
